WE would like to say huge thanks to everyone who rang us and to those whose information led to the safe return of our cat Billy after he disappeared near his home in Merthyr Dyfan Road.
However, we would like to state how upsetting this experience was for us all. We were hoping that by now Billy might be recuperating from the operation he desperately needs to fix his thyroid condition, but recent events have set him back. He now needs to be re-stabilised before surgery can go ahead as the vet wants him at his optimum best. Before this illness ravaged him he was a beautiful cat - a good weight and always clean and well groomed. Now he is extremely thin and his coat has become matted and greasy - both symptoms of hyperthyroidism. He finds it painful to be combed, so he gets clipped and groomed whenever he has an anaesthetic.
We understand how someone might think he is neglected but he now has a collar and a medi-alert tag with our telephone number on it. He has also been microchipped. Please call us straightaway if you find him.
