Pool work

MAY I express my concern about the timing, and the final cost, of the demolition of the Knap swimming pool and landscaping of the area.

The wanton destruction of a once wonderful amenity started some time in February and is only half finished. I believe the original cost was quoted at £300,000.

I am a frequent visitor to the lake-side, walking my dog, so I can see the slow progress.

I look through the wire fence and all the old memories come back - Mr Baker, weekly trips with the school for swimming lessons that started the first week in May. Brrr! Then the summer holidays, and later with my own children. Good memories.

I wonder what the final cost will be? And will it be made known to us, the council tax payers?

Would it have been cheaper to refurbish the pool and make it an all-the-year-round amenity?
