Family life

ONCE again the Catholic Church are this year celebrating the virtues and blessings of family life.

Families come in all shapes and sizes, they say. They go on - for many of us, family means the people who know and love us best. Families can provide secure building block for our lives or they can present the biggest challenges. Whatever our family situation we are all part of the family of the almighty.

Every year Catholics who congregate in St Helens Church (Wyndham Street) and throughout England and Wales are encouraged to seek out people who share basic values which guide their attitude to life, even though they themselves may not share a coherent Christian faith or a common goal. Nothing we lose of the distinctive Christian message when we stand alongside others who work for the dignity of human life at all its stages. With others we may find ourselves able to promote the real choice to choose a way of life to live more effectively.
