Following last week's story "Vet let our dog suffer," I would like to give my own personal experience of Barry Animal Health Centre.
My cat Jessica had been run over and needed urgent treatment. Her leg was in a terrible condition. It is hard to explain how bad it was because I think she was dragged by the vehicle. We were not members of the surgery but had nowhere else to go.
When we went to the Barry Animal Health Centre we were treated very well.
The vet, Mrs Kirk, asked if Jessica was on any medication and was very helpful and caring about our pet. I was distressed and so was Jessica. She had to have a leg amputated and stayed in the centre for a few days - Jessica's other leg was dislocated.
But everyone at Barry Animal Health Centre was very compassionate about her treatment.
We appreciate what was done for her and, from my own experience, I would not want people to think service at the Animal Health Centre was bad. I would also recommend the Tynewydd Road practice to anyone.
Jessica has recovered well - I don't know what we would have done if Jessica had died. She is one of the family. She is a companion to me and my family along with our other pets.
