Congratulations Lucy

STUNNING ITV newsgirl Lucy Cohen wed her TV presenter husband Rhodri Owen at St Andrews Major Church in Dinas Powys last Saturday.

The couple married in front of around 120 guests, all of whom were close friends or family.

A crowd of wellwishers also gathered outside the church.

The 3pm ceremony was attended by a number of Welsh celebrities including heartthrob actor Matthew Rhys, ITV Wales newsreader Justina Simpson, Pobol Y Cwm star Llinor ap Gwynedd, Heno's Heledd Cynwal and S4C's Rhydian Bowen Phillips and Alun Williams.

Lucy's new husband Rhodri Owen is one of the presenters on the Wish you were here programme.

Lucy wore a strapless Stephanie Allin gown which she chose from the "One and Only" boutique in the Mumbles.

The couple have been together for two and a half years.

They chose St Andrews because it is the church where Lucy, who grew up in Dinas, was christened when she was 13.

Lucy's Jewish dad and Christian mum let her choose her own faith when she was a teenager.

She said: "My christening was a special day and I have always pictured myself getting married in St Andrews."

Lucy had to live in Dinas for 15 days before the wedding to be able to tie the knot in the church of her choice.

During the ceremony fellow ITV newsreader Justina Simpson read out a poem written by Lucy's late grandmother.

And at the reception, held in Cardiff Bay's St David's Hotel, the bride gave a speech dedicated to her late father.

An elaborate floral arrangement was put on display at the reception to finish off the day with "a magical feel".

The couple will spend their honeymoon on the isle of Capri, once home to Gracie Fields.
