CD review: Mario Winans - Hurt No More

KNOWN for his hugely impressive list of production credits, Mario Winans is stepping up to the mic for his own share of the glory.

This man can put Mary J Blige, Whitney Houston, R Kelly, Jennifer Lopez, the Notorious B.I.G. and P Diddy on his CV, to name but a few. And on his debut album Hurt No More, he shows that can really pull on the heart strings.

The first single released from the disc is I Don't Wanna Know. Thanks to the haunting Enya sample that pushed the Fugees through the charts in Ready Or Not, Mario's honest and vulnerable passion is beautifully picked out.

Hurt No More is a bit of a surprise, considering Mario's gospel background.

Not only does it come with a parental advisory sticker, it's also a Bad Boy release with production and instrumental duties handled by one person - Mario Winans himself.

Sporting a mass of collaborations with a host of big R&B names, Hurt No More is outstanding.
