CD Review: Just Great Songs

THERE is no better time of year to get hold of a couple of great compilation albums, and right now there is a whole rash of fantastic CDs to choose from.

One of the best is called Just Great Songs. A bit of a boast perhaps, but with the double disc carrying 40 foot-tapping tracks that are bound to get you going, it might just be able to carry through with its promise.

It kicks off with a little bit of Bryan Adams, whose gravelly vocals proclaim The Only Thing That Looks Good On Me Is You, before Robert Palmer slides on in with Addicted to Love, leading on to Dire Straits, Texas, INXS, Meatloaf and Stealers Wheel.

And that's only the first CD. The second is just as strong, with classics on it like Steve Winwood, The Isley Brothers, and The Kinks.

This is a fabulous collection of tracks, ideal for home, work or driving with the window down and your arm out in the sunshine.
