They're soo happy at results

TANG Soo Do Federation opened classes in Penarth and Cardiff five months ago.

Tang Soo Do is a traditional Korean martial art of self-defence. Students from Penarth and Cardiff recently took part in their first grading, supported by secretary general Master P V M Chin 7th Dan.

Nick Houghton, 3rd Dan, regional instructor for South Wales, assisted by Alex Robson, red belt, both residents of Penarth, run three classes a week.

All the students passed their gradings, the oldest being 59, along with three other adult members, double grading to yellow belt. The three youngest members, Jake and Luke McNally and Rhys Thomas, all from Penarth, presented the Welsh flag and dragon to Master P V M Chin, who is based in Luton.

The grading was also supported by two senior students from the Oxfordshire area.

The next grading for Wales is in October and all students are invited to Luton for a seminar with the Masters of Tang Soo Do in August.

Classes are held at the Old Penarthians Rugby Club, St Mark's Road, Penarth, on Thursdays, from 6.30pm to 8pm; The Star Leisure Centre, Splott Road, Splott, on Mondays from 6.30pm to 8pm; Fitness First, Caerphilly Road, Llanishen, on Fridays from 7.15pm to 8.15pm.
