Cadoxton Cons mark a successful season

CADOXTON Cons FC have been celebrating a successful 2003-04 season.

The Thomas, Carroll South Wales FA Senior League side, sponsored by Philip Young and Son, was the next-highest team in Barry to Barry Town.

They retained their place in Division Two with the honour of having the fewest bookings. Mathew Bickley was voted players' player and Nolan Stevens was the manager's choice.

The Vale of Glamorgan Senior League side, sponsored by Glamorgan Beer, was honoured after winning the Vale of Glamorgan Division Three trophy this year.

Craig Christoforato was voted the players' player and Alex Lee was manager Stephen Hawtin's choice.

Cadoxton Cons' under-nine team, sponsored by Hawkins Brothers, also had a very good season.

It costs a lot of money to run a football club and Cadoxton Cons would like to thank all their patrons, sponsors, supporters and helpers including the Cadoxton Fish Bar.

At their AGM, the club elected their executive committee for the coming season: Mark Chtistoforato, Mathew Hoare, Creighton Moyle, Anthony Pugh, Kevin Stephens, Thomas Taylor and Susan Weir. They are now looking for a trainer, managers and players for their senior teams - please contact the club or secretary Kevin Stephens.

The club also intend to improve their home ground facilities and would also like to support a local Vale of Glamorgan Youth side.

Senior sides start training on July 1, at Parc Bryn-y-Don, Dinas Powys.
