MAY I, through the pages of your newspaper, congratulate the Gibbonsdown Fruit Co-operative which this week celebrated its first year of operation.

It has become one of the most popular and successful projects in the Gibbonsdown ward, delivering fruit and vegetables to people for a very reasonable price.

Thanks must go to all those people who have worked hard to set up the co-operative and also those volunteers who keep the co-operative running week after week. These people are a proud example of community spirit.

Once again, thank you for all your hard work and good luck for many more years of healthy service to the people.
