Unfair pay

The move by the Vale Council to fence off another section of the leisure centre car park seems quite symbolic to me. It sums up the whole attitude of the council; another little slice of the pie for them and a bit less for us.

At a time when the perils of obesity are all over the news and the Government is trying to encourage us to take more exercise, it is ridiculous make leisure centre access even more difficult

Surely if nurses have to pay for the luxury of secure parking then so should our civil servants. I would suggest the senior officers could subsidise the lower rank and file from their massive pay rises.

Why is it that the rank and file civil servants have had to fight for a deal worth less than three percent a year, yet the senior officers are looking to award themselves obscenely massive increases? Surely what is good for the goose is good for the the gander. Either it's 40 percent all round or three percent all round.

It is a shame this council is so full of its own importance and seems to have forgotten why it exists - to serve the public.
