MILLWOOD bowed out of the Carruthers Shield at Dinas Powys, but gained swift revenge the following day in the Alan Martin Shield.
Millwood went to Dinas seeking their third Carruthers Shield win.
Skip Graham Brown's rink led 8-1, but conceded 10 shots on two ends and then lost six in a row to go 23-12 down and finally lose 31-16.
Kenny Williams and his rink were level at 7-7, but lost only three of the last ten ends to win 21-11.
George Hindmarsh's rink won seven of the first nine ends, to lead 16-2, but Dinas fought back to lead 19-16, 20-19 and 21-19, taking 3 shots on the final end for a 24-19 victory.
John Crout's rink pulled away to a 17-10 lead, before Dinas came back to 17-14 with one end to play. Dinas were gifted 7 shots to give them a slightly lucky win, and the overall score was 87-73 to the Villagers.

This Saturday's fixtures are both friendlies, home to Sully and away to Penarth Rectory Road. League fixtures start Saturday, June 19.
Millwood avenged the Carruthers Shield defeat when they returned to Dinas a day later for the two-rink game in the Alun Martin Memorial Cup.
The Millwood rinks were Evan Chilcott, George Hindmarsh, Colin James, Ken Williams, and; Ben Parrish, Peter Taylor (Capt), Graham Brown, Fred Phillips.
The Kenny Williams rink raced into a 7-1 lead, but at 13 ends Dinas had fought back to 9-7 ahead. Millwood gradually took control and eased to a comfortable win by 18-11.
Fred Phillips' rink were faced with Clive Todd and Len Webley and lost 5 shots on the opening end. It was noticeable that the rinks were much slower than the previous day and had obviously been watered.
Millwood stuck to the task and levelled at 12-12,before pulling away to 19-15. After 16 ends, Dinas trailed 19-18, but Millwood eventually won 23-20, and added to the 7-shots win by Kenny Williams' rink. Millwood took ample revenge to go through by 10 shots, 21-31.
Phillips was delighted to exorcise the ghost of the dropped 7 shots on the last end the previous day.
