CD review of Under my Skin by Avril Lavigne

UNDER MY Skin, the second album from Avril Lavigne, doesn't stray too far from the recipe that made her debut, Let Go, a big seller.

Acoustic guitars bolstered by rock riffs in the chorus and sing-along vocals for angst-ridden teens seem to be the order of play for the young punk princess.

Similar in style to her first collection, Avril has tried to mature as a singer and in some cases, songwriter, but she just can't stay away from tracks searching for the meaning of life.

She has already released the single Don't Tell Me, concentrating on that hormonal confusion experienced by most teens, where the girl really does mean 'no', and the boy gets huffy and walks away.

And the opening song Take Me Away pretty much sets the tone for most of Under My Skin.

It may not be anything new or different, but Under My Skin is well written and well executed, so it will probably keep Avril Lavigne ticking along nicely.
