Bluebirds celebrate a successful season

BARRY Bluebirds AFC presentation evening, held at Barry Island Sports and Social Club on Saturday, May 29, was well attended and very enjoyable. Chairman Martin George and club secretary Lynn Williams presented the awards:

MINI AWARDS: UNDER-EIGHT A Players' player: Daniel Stringer; manager's player: Sam Johnson; most Improved: Lloyd Kenefick.

UNDER-EIGHT B Players' player: Mark Kingdom; manager's player: Lee Jones; most Improved: Jacob Clements.

UNDER-TEN Players' player: Cheyenne Whitlock; manager's player: Morgan Vaughan; most Improved: Sam Herbert.

Under-17B: cup winners: Sandra Williams Memorial Trophy; Vale of Glamorgan AFL Inter-league representative winners. Under-17A: Cup runners-up; Division Two - third in the league.

The management committee would like to thank everyone who supported the club over the past season, particularly Creed Catering, Steve Sloman and Martin Andrews, Vale of Glamorgan Council, Graham Martin the burger man and Tomos the ice cream man.

Pam and Lynn would also like to express their personal thanks to everyone for their gifts and support throughout the year.

The club is looking for a manager for the younger players in the under-eight age group, and also players in the following age groups: under-11 (contact manager Barry Crompton - 410362); under-12 (Martin George - 794418); under-13 (Gareth Donovan - 406522); under-14 (Chris Godwin - 419633).
