OK, I know we're well into the new year and all, or nearly all of you, have already stopped going to the gym, even though you promised yourself that this year you would see it through - and what about the rest of you?
Don't just blame the patches and the fact that they made you ill! So you had to light up again? Let's talk willpower and proper resolutions here.
So, hair-wise, what can we promise ourselves?
Well, first of all we need to find a cupboard - yes, a cupboard - or even a drawer, preferably one that you will find access to rather difficult. Then open said cupboard door and neatly place inside your ceramic straighteners, then cover with any other old rubbish you have accumulated.
Probably the best thing to use here is any of those presents you only used once. Maybe the bread machine or foot spa.
Throw all your other rubbish on top so you couldn't find those straighteners even if you wanted to (sounds like my bedroom now) and quickly shut the door - and don't worry, every day will be a little bit easier and you will kick the habit eventually!
Yes, you are reading it here first: "Ceramic hair straightners are so last year, darling."
No self-respecting fashionista would ever admit to owning, let alone using a pair!
Now, it will be a long and rocky journey but we have at least set out upon the route - or should that be root?
This is the year of waves and movement in hair.
The rigid poker-straight look, so beloved of teenage girls, has gone and really, speaking as a guy, nothing looks worse than older women trying to recreate what was ostensibly a teenage look. Us British, being as we are, quickly leapt upon the image and did it to death.
So this is the year of relaxed movement in hair. I am not talking about perms or curls or any of that rubbish, just a much more natural look, thereby allowing the other must-have of this year - colour.
To really look its best, it always works so much better on waves rather than straight hair.
So lock up the irons - and out with your rags and rollers.
