Visit a leisure centre and see what's on offer for you

The Vale has four leisure centres based at Penarth, Barry, Cowbridge and Llantwit Major.

All the centres offer a fantastic choice of facilities and activities, ranging from the Lifestyle Health and Fitness Studios to family recreation.

The Vale is also home to the Colcot Sports Centre, which houses the Hammer Strength Gym and an outdoor astro turf pitch, and the Holm View Centre, which has dry leisure facilities, new astro turf pitches and a main hall.

As a guide, the leisure centres are usually open from 7am to 10pm, Monday to Friday and 9am to 5pm, Saturday and Sunday. Activities vary from one centre to another, however, and we advise that you telephone in advance.

The Vale's lifestyle health and fitness brand offers you a range of memberships to suit all training and leisure needs, ranging from a Platinum membership to a Fit 'n' Swim membership for individuals or couples.

The Vale's Passport to Leisure card offers residents discounts on sports and leisure facilities. Application forms can be picked up at leisure centres.

During the school holidays each centre has an exciting programme of activities to keep kids entertained.

Take time out

FASHION, beauty, hairdressing, manicures, sunbeds, diet, clothes . . . it's all there to help you look and feel your best.

Being attractive is as much a state of mind as anything else.

Psychologists say many women are so busy looking after their families they don't have the chance to spend time on themselves and if the opportunity does arrive it's so unaccustomed they feel it must be wrong.

But if you are happy then so is your family so stop feeling guilty and indulge yourself.

Start your campaign by putting some time aside for yourself.

Use it to relax and pamper yourself.

Experiment with your make up, pay attention to your hands and nails and don't forget a new hairstyle can add a fresh dimension to your appearance.
