Spoilt for choice in where to go for that first date

PICTURE it - you have the chance to make that all-important first impression with the woman or man of your dreams.

You've bought yourself a brand new outfit, had your hair done and you're looking fine - even if you do say so yourself.

But where do you go in the Vale of Glamorgan if you want to enjoy yourself in the right venue?

Truthfully, you are spoilt for choice. For a la carte menus, there are some top-notch restaurants to book.

On the outskirts of the Vale, there is the award-winning Gilby's, who offer modern European foods on the Old Port Road.

In Penarth, the Custom House is a magnificent looking building with a lot to offer inside, including a brassiere where you can select your own dish from the fresh foods in front of you.

And heading out to the rural Vale, the fantastic Egerton Grey in the stunning surroundings of Porthkerry.

If you fail to make the right impression after making a date in any of the above, you never will.
