Simon retains Mr Wales title

LOCAL amateur bodybuilder Simon Horsell has retained his Mr Wales title by winning his class in the NABA Championships for the second year.

Simon has only been competing for 12 months and has had notable success.

He won two different Mr Wales titles in 2003, and is on track to add to his achievements in 2004.

Having won this title Simon has qualified for the British Championships at Southport on May 22.

He is then off to Malta for the European Championships and goes straight from there to Brisbane, Australia, for the World Championships in June.

Simon trains every day for two hours at the Muscle Fitness Gym, at Barry Island, and is coached by Mr Guy Sillett. He is also helped by Mr and Mrs Paul Long, of Healthfit, Llantwit Major.

Simon thanked all those mentioned and the Bassett Arms for their sponsorship and encouragement, and hopes to repay them by bringing more titles home to Barry this year.
