A BARRY nursery school has been given a glowing report after a recent inspection.
Inspectors who assessed Cadoxton Nursery on Victoria Park Road in March praised the school for its "happy and caring atmosphere".
The inspectors' report said: "The quality of relationships in the school is very good and children feel confident and valued within a secure and happy community.
"Personal qualities such as truthfulness and care for others are quietly encouraged, and children's awareness of right and wrong result from staff who gently and consistently reinforce acceptable social skills.
"All of the pupils are given access to an inviting and enriching range of experiences."
In the report, children's behaviour, assessment, support, guidance and pupils' welfare, provision for pupils with special educational needs, partnerships with parents, the community, industry, schools and other groups, accommodation and learning resources were all marked as "very good".
Head teacher Linda Charlton said: "This report confirms the excellence of the educational provision at Cadoxton Nursery School.
"The staff, governing body, parents and local community, who all supported the school so enthusiastically, are to be congratulated on their efforts in providing such a successful school. Our children, who respond so positively, deserve the best we an provide."
Chairman of governors Cllr Fred Johnson said: "We express our sincere thanks to the head teacher and staff who have worked so hard to achieve the highest standards in teaching which are obviously reflected in the inspection report."
