I believe the article headed "Airguns targeted" (April, 22, 2004) is misleading and inaccurate.

The surrender date of April 30, relates solely and exclusively to compressed air cartridge guns only, of which there are only a tiny minority in circulation, and manufacture of these guns in this country has now ceased.

Ordinary spring and compressed air cylinder guns, so long as they comply with current regulations, do not have to be surrendered to the police.
