Sort it out

WHAT a scene of utter chaos Barry Island on Easter Bank Holiday weekend was.

Train services to the Island station suspended, buses transferring rail passengers taking about 20 minutes to travel from Barry Station to the Island and by 4pm traffic backed up Broad Street from the station to Priory Hill and from Ship Hill to Jenner Road, and no one directing it.

What happened to all the specials that used to be on traffic duty on holiday weekends?

Only one toilet on Barry Island open, which was totally inadequate for the crowds queuing outside them, toilets at the car park and at Jackson Bay both locked.

Why wasn't the new car park on the Waterfront at Gwalia buildings advertised and opened for visitors? Signs could have been placed on Priory Hill near the Broad Street tunnel entrance; the railway might have made a few pounds carrying visitors to the Island. I thought we were paying a tourist officer/town manager to look after this sort of thing.
