Dragons on fire

BARRY Dragons and Millennium Centre Tae Kwon-Do Clubs travelled to Cheltenham at the end of March to take part in the United Kingdom Open Championship.

First on the mat, Sion Ford, in the intermediate kata, took first place to add another title to his impressive list of achievements.

Rhys Thomas took an excellent second place, with Rory Coleman and Conrad Binding finishing joint fourth.

Stefan Cadach came runner-up in the points sparring, losing a very close final in which he gave away height and weight.

There were also second places for Jadine Procope, who lost a close final after good early round victories, and Richard Palfrey who lost his final after two overtimes.

Senior fighters Alan Evans (second place) and Tammy Roberts (third place) continue to improve.

Anyone interested in tae kwon-do can call club instructor Colin Palfrey on Barry 406971 or 07786 497038.
