Thanks

I write this open letter to your readers to thank the Mayor and the people of Barry for their wonderful efforts on Sunday, March 28. I would also like to thank Jane Hutt AM and the Deputy Lord Mayor of Barry Olga Cash, for walking with us.

Throughout Wales we hold the Walk for Life, in over 35 towns and villages, and the staff at KRUF were proud to be associated with the Walkers for Life who accompanied the mayor of Barry on their sponsored walk.

It was made even more special by the wonderful young children that we meet who, as well as undertaking the walk, donate their pocket money.

For those children, I will be hoping to organise a very special treat and they will have the opportunity to visit the KRUF children's ward and the research laboratories at the Institute of Nephrology in Cardiff, just so that they can meet the people and patients that their pocket money is going to support.

With Kidney patients in Wales in a crisis every Walk for Life and indeed every penny counts.

Again, I thank the people of Barry and all those who took part in the Walk for Life and for their support over the last few years.

Paul Leonard

Chief Executive
