Police tax

I have just received, as have all Vale taxpayers, the new Council Tax Bill. I note, on the enclosed letter for police funding, an increase of 11.79 percent.

While I appreciate the service of these officers and the need for an increase in Bobbys on the beat, I am concerned on the amount that is allocated to the Acropolis Nightclub on Barry Island every Friday and Saturday night.

There are as many as six large vehicles on a Saturday/Friday. I am sure this valuable resource could and should be used elsewhere.

Does the proprietor pay extra in his budget every year to have this large police presence when emptying his establishment?

Maybe if this licensee were to subsidise the police himself then taxpayers themselves would start to get value for money on their budget.
