Newtown 2
BARRY Town managed only their second win of the season against Newtown at Jenner Park on the weekend.
Richard Kennedy, who has collected three Welsh Premiership title medals in his career, made his return to the Dragons line-up.
Assistant manager David Hughes said: "The fight goes on. All we can do is show the same passion and commitment that we did against Newtown and the points will continue to come. Richard Kennedy's return made a massive difference and if we can win again at Welshpool next week, we can still put pressure on Carmarthen."
Barry fans must have thought another defeat was on the cards as Newtown went one up after just three minutes thanks to a Justin Wickham goal.
Barry pulled level on 16 minutes when Gareth Elliott scored from a corner.
Further chances followed for Barry and Luke Sherbon hit the woodwork.
Barry went ahead in the 47 minute when Allen ran on to a through-ball from Sherbon to beat Edwards.
Barry added a third goal with quarter of an hour to go when Richard Kennedy scored in the six-yard box.
Newtown managed a last-minute consolation goal to make the final score 3-2.
