Ryan joins squad

A YOUNG footballer from Barry who hopes to become professional is training at the Bristol City soccer academy.

Ryan Boyles, 12, of East Walk, has now joined with the squad, which already has the academy status that Cardiff City is seeking.

Ryan said: "I'd like to be a professional footballer one day. If I had my pick of clubs I'd play for Liverpool."

Ryan, who is a pupil at Barry Comprehensive, plays in midfield and is now training three times a week with the Ashton Gate outfit.

Ryan's dad Neil Boyles said: "I'd like to say thank you to Adrian Harding, Ryan's coach at Barry Athletic, who has played such a big part in his development over the last two years."

Ryan's coach at the Bristol City Academy said: "Ryan has a nice touch and strikes the ball well. He is a very confident boy and cool on the ball."
