Lacrosse club hold fundraiser

BARRY Rugby Club was the venue, last Friday, for a new fundraising event organised by Barry Wildcats Lacrosse Club. The Wildcats had lost out on a major grant, and had to raise much-needed funds to develop their senior section.

They had successfully obtained lottery registration from the Vale of Glamorgan and a grand raffle was organised by the club committee.

To make the draw go with a swing, a fancy dress night was suggested, and this proved an overwhelming success. With nearly all the club members dressing up and joining in the spirit of things, the evening turned out to be very enjoyable.

The night itself belonged to the younger members, with Dave organising the fun events on the dance floor and Sue from the Rugby Club judging the fancy dress. Everyone went home very happy.

The raffle itself raised a grand total of £380 and thanks must go to all who donated prizes. A full list of winners appears below.

Thanks to Barry Rugby Club and Sue for their hospitality and patience and a special thanks to Dave Thomas who had the kids up dancing all night. A replay is definitely on the cards.

Prize winners: First 0581 - Taff Colley, DVD player; second 1375 - Dave Puce, £25 cash; third 0046 - Bethan Cotter, watch set; fourth 0854 - Chris Lloyd, watch set; fifth 0003 - K Burstow, Radio Alarm; sixth 0463 - B Flaherty, bottle of wine; seventh 0429 - Helen Provis, bottle of wine.
