Ryan shows 'potential to be professional'

NATHAN Davies, aged 15, beat Ryan Rowlands, aged seven, in the Junior Handicap competition at the Harbour Snooker Centre, Barry Island.

Ryan is the youngest-ever finalist in the six years the competition has been running.

Anthony Davies, world 31 in the professional ranks, and WSA coach, who runs the coaching classes at the Harbour, said: "Even at the tender age of seven, Ryan has definitely got the potential to go on to become a future professional. It's quite scary."

A recent visitor to the club was world number nine, Matthew Stevens, who Anthony defeated 8-4 with breaks of 105 and 125.
