DVD review of Bad Boys

THE BAD Boys are back in the imaginatively titled Bad Boys II, and it's pretty much a repeat of the first film.

Starring the hilarious duo Will Smith as Detective Mike Lowrey and Martin Lawrence as Marcus Burnett, the mismatched pair do battle against drug-smuggling low-lives - again.

This time they are joined by Burnett's stunning younger sister Syd, (Gabrielle Union) who plays an undercover DEA cop - and of course, a love interest for Lowrey.

That's where the flick starts to fall down. Apart from the fact that Syd should have been portrayed as a dynamic, go-getting career woman, she seems to fall to pieces. You can cut the character some slack because it's her first assignment, and it's a particularly dangerous one, but her brother constantly undermines her authority, and she doesn't even put up an argument about it. Not very likely.

Plus, the whole plot has a pathetic and rather annoying theme where the whole Miami police department seems to be experiencing problems dealing with stress.

If you are a fan of non-stop, high-speed, explosive action, then this will do for you.
