Experienced national coach sees potential

AFTER weeks of speculation, Din-as Powys Tennis Club is delighted to confirm that Rob Walbyoff, currently head coach at the Welsh National Tennis Centre, will be joining the club as club coach.

Rob will bring considerable experience in coaching players of all ages and abilities.

In addition to playing a significant role in the development of junior tennis at the club, he will also be running coaching sessions for ladies' and men's teams, veterans and social players.

Following his appointment, Rob said: "I am delighted to have the opportunity to come to Dinas Powys as I see a club which has fantastic potential.

"I look forward to the challenge of making Dinas Powys the best club in the world."

Rob's first commitment to the club will be at Junior Open Day on Saturday, March 20, starting at 9.45am to which all are welcome.

In addition to Saturday Morning Juniors, which will continue through the season, Rob will also be running junior teams and performance squads as well as individual and group coaching sessions for players of all abilities.

During the Easter holidays tennis camps will be running during w/c April 5 and w/c April 12, from 10am to 3pm for children between the ages of six and 12, at a cost of £45 per child per week for members and £50 per child per week for non-members.

Senior tennis at Dinas Powys will start on Saturday, April 3, with a friendly social tournament at 1.15pm, all are welcome.
