Big thanks

MAY I, through your columns, express our heartfelt thanks to all the staff and customers at Morrisons, Barry, for helping to raise a record breaking £552,657.00 nationally, for Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Through their amazing efforts and generosity £6,390.94 has been raised locally, which has helped Morrisons smash its previous 'Charity of the Year' fundraising record by a whopping £10,000.

The money will be used to fund Marie Curie Cancer Care Holme Tower Hospice Centre at Penarth and the charity's home nursing service and will provide more than 36,000 hours of free nursing care across the country for cancer patients and their immediate families.

This will enable terminally ill people to die in the comfortable and familiar surroundings of their own homes, supported by their families.

Barbara Elliott Community fundraising co-ordinator, South and East Wales Frogmore Street Abergavenny
