A BARRY schoolboy has been selected to play rugby for the Welsh Schools' team that will face Italy in Milan on February 19.
Ryan Prosser, 15, has proven himself to be Wales' top hooker at under-16 level this year.
Ryan said: "I'm delighted with my selection and very proud to be able to represent Wales at rugby. I was picked for the Wales 'A' under-16 team last season but was unable to play because of injury. That was very disappointing but this makes up for it."
Winger Christian Thorne, from Stanwell Comprehensive School in Penarth, will line up alongside Ryan in the February international.
Two other boys from the Vale of Glamorgan have made the Welsh schools' under-16 development squad.
They are centre Gareth Jones, also a pupil at Stanwell Comprehensive School, and Cowbridge outside-half Ben Wright. Ben is currently in South Africa with the England youth cricket team.
