School food

I would appreciate just a short space in you newspaper to respond, on behalf of Vale Catering Services, to the "Chew on it" letter which appeared in the Barry & District News of December 18.

School meals are viewed as a daily social event within the school environment, and all pupils are welcome to partake.

To encourage more uptake of school meals and to promote the service, themed events are organised by ourselves on a regular basis, and all such promotions are advertised in advance within the schools.

The Christmas lunch menu was advertised from November and, as with all meals, they could be ordered through the school administration office and not with Vale Catering Services direct.

No children, whether or not they take packed lunches regularly or intermittently, are excluded from ordering meals in line with the above guidelines.

Vale Catering Services enjoy feeding the future generation with healthy, balanced and nutritional meals.
