Tee-dious

AGAIN the Conservative-run Vale of Glamorgan Council attempts to cut a £53,000 lifeline grant to the Gibbonsdown Children's Centre, using the familiar excuse of lack of money.

I must remind your readers that this was the same council that just three months ago wanted to spend over £350,000 on sponsoring a golfing tournament.

I am proud to say that the combined votes of the Labour and Plaid Cymru councillors stopped their golfing sponsorship plans.

I believe that the people of the Vale would prefer to support the deprived children of Barry and the Vale rather than spending their taxes on wealthy golfing tournaments. This Tory council has got its priorities completely wrong.

Cllr Rob Curtis Merthyr Dyfan Road Barry
