ON New Year's Day we went with our family for a walk over the Pebble Beach.
As we walked along the pebbles my husband found a dead Dog Fish. The children were curious to see what it looked like as we don't get to see many like this usually. Unfortunately, as we proceeded along the beach we came across another 10 dead Dog Fish. The people fishing on the beach had obviously caught them on their lines and just thrown them onto the pebbles. Now my husband always told us that if the fish is too small or not want you want you gently take it off the hook and put back into the sea. So what's going on? My children were very upset at this sight. Also we found empty boxes discarded which held their bait and a bag with a baby squid (for bait). Please, all we see in the papers is issues about dog owners cleaning up after their dogs, which we do! Yet we come across this. In future, the people who left this carnage and mess please do the right thing. Thank you.
