New labour

I reply to a recent correspondent who criticised my description of this "New Labour" Government as "diabolical."

May I ask why this is the first Labour Government to widen the gap between rich and poor; extend privatisation, rather than advance the private sector; leave on the statute books anti-trade union laws; and abandon the principles of peace and international law, to give up with a reckless, aggressive, reactionary US administration?

Furthermore, I believe the true test of a civilised society is how that society looks after its afflicted, its elderly and sick. Everyone, apart from Labour politicians knows it is failing horrendously in this regard.
