Sheltered

DURING the Christmas season, Barry Citizens' Action Group raised £187 for Shelter Cymru by singing Christmas carols and songs on King Square, Barry. To add to the festive spirit, mince pies were offered to local shoppers.

This event has become an annual occasion and despite the bitterly, cold day, the Action Group received increased local support as passers-by stopped to join in the singing. Their often harmonious voices, drew words of praise from shoppers with requests for encores to sing the old, traditional Christmas carols like Away in a Manger and Silent Night.

With hoarse voices, numb fingers and toes, we returned to our comfortable homes hoping that we had contributed, in some small way, to alleviating the plight of the homeless. We thank everyone who gave us their support.
