I have just read the News' story about a couple living in Stratford Green who were helped by generous local decorators.

Clearly these people needed and deserved help, but they are not alone. It has come to my attention that despite the excessive length of time that the Vale of Glamorgan housing department leaves its properties empty, they are very rarely in a decent state when they are let.

I wonder what it is the council staff do with these properties when they are empty? How many more people have to have this problem before something is done about it?
