BARRY'S youngest singing sensation Chloe Cooke has been nominated for yet another prestigious award.

Twelve-year-old Chloe Cooke of Springfield Rise was up for the Special Persons Award for her singing at the Red Dragon FM Welsh Awards held at St David's Hall last month.

Her mother Jane said: "It was an honour to be there, we had such a good time."

She added: "Chloe is a performer. She loves to sing, if she could, Chloe would be singing all the time. When she performs it's nothing to her, she's a true professional."

Chloe's passion for singing has already led her to performing live on radio, television, and at a number of concerts and festivals.

She told the News that she enjoys performing songs with attitude and has been singing since she was seven.

Chloe who has sung with the likes of Albert Lee and Linda Gail Lewis has been signed under the label DA Records for nearly two years to help promote her as a professional artist.

As part of her recording contract Chloe had the chance to write her own material for her songs. So far she has written songs including Home to your Heart, I Will I Will, I Truly Believe and The Power of Two.

But the twelve-year-old who goes to Bryn Hafren School said that she always puts her schoolwork first.

Danny Chang of DA Records who signed Chloe said: "Chloe is one of the biggest talents around. It's amazing that at such a young age she is so dedicated. The first time she came in the studio she was a true professional. There is so much interest in her so we want to develop her as an artist."

Mr Chang added that Chloe has proved herself as a professional artist.

He said: "A lot of young singers tend to mimic artists but the sign of a true singer is giving them a new piece of music and seeing if they can give their own unique style and Chloe does that."
