CD review 'Body Language' Kylie Minogue

THE PINT-size princess of pop is back in the charts, with the blockbusting Body Language.

Having already released Slow, oozing with the same entrancing blend of seductive electronica, spiralling rhythms and breathy vocals that sent hormones raging with Can't Get You Out of My Head, it is easily the finest moment on Body Language. With this hit in hand, the album promises great things.

But what it doesn't deliver is the usual regurgitation of fluffy up-beats that Ms Minogue was once famed for.

Before recording Body Language, Kylie Minogue must have wondered how to follow Fever. If you are expecting the usual, this is a wake-up call. Kylie introduces dark numbers like Red Blooded Woman to re-define her image in a big way.

Her face and body have always been like a blank canvass, changeable and with a talent to carry off any look. And her voice has lasted since I Should Be So Lucky 15 years ago.

Do not expect to dance madly around your handbag to these tracks girls - and lads, take it easy!
