Plea for art

MY aunt, Hannah Frank, now aged 95, was a prominent and popular artist and sculptor during the 20th century.

Her distinctive style - haunting drawings in black and white, many featuring moons, stars, wraith-like figures and elongated shapes - adorned many peoples' walls as either original works or prints.

Hannah was known as a Glasgow artist and had her work - her later bronzes as well as the drawings - exhibited at the Royal Academy, the Royal Scottish Academy and The Hunterian, among others.

I have organised a new exhibition of Hannah's work in Lancaster and some works will be exhibited in Falmouth next spring.

I'm also organising a series of other exhibitions throughout Britain leading up to her centenary year in 2008.

We urgently need to find these art works so that we can photograph them and correctly attribute them in the exhibition catalogues and book.

Do you own a Hannah Frank drawing or sculpture? If so, please contact me at fionafrank@hannahfrank.org.uk or telephone 07778 737681.

I do hope you can help with this opportunity to contribute to something of both historical and contemporary interest.

Fiona Frank, Dalton Road, Lancaster.
