Young hero

RECENTLY I travelled to Hereford for Armistice Day, but before I did, I laid flowers and a poppy on the grave of a young soldier who lies in Barry cemetery.

He was Driver W/881 J H Burke of the Royal Field Artillery, was killed between Christmas and New Year 1915, aged 15; his is the youngest name, on a war grave in our cemetery. Maybe he even enlisted at the age of 14.

What a tragedy! I have tended his grave for some time; no one else seems to, so, I assume, all relatives are long gone, or departed Barry.

Does anyone of your readers know his story?
