Insulting

I AM writing to you to register my dismay at the goings on at the Memorial Hall on Armistice Day Parade.

I along with others attended the ceremony on arrival we found that there was no Welsh flag flying. The English flag was along with the three forces flags. We feel this to be an insult to the Welsh men and women who gave there lives during the wars and are still doing so.

After the ceremony was over we all retired to the ante room where we were told that there was to be no bar on the orders of the Mayor.

We were told this by the lady who runs the Memorial Hall.

Men, women and children had marched - stood - and sat through the ceremony and had expected to obtain refreshments afterwards.

It was noticed that the dignitaries were in the Mayor's Parlour wining and dining - a case of them and us again.

What is happening to our town, can we please have an answer?

How many will not attend next year through their actions?

Mr Terence Gardner Broughton Place Barry
