Man attempts to abduct girl

BARRY police are warning the public to stay alert after the attempted abduction of a teenage girl.

Officers are appealing for witnesses after a man tried to entice a 16-year-old girl into his car as she walked along Port Road at around 6.15pm on Sunday, October 26.

The driver is described as white, in his late 30s to early 40s.

He is well-built with a shaven head. He was driving a silver two-door car which had bold, white writing on the near side door panels.

Police are keen to speak with the man in connection with the incident and are asking people to be vigilant, but also reassure the public that this is an isolated incident and there is no need for alarm.

Anybody who may have witnessed this, or may be able to help with enquiries is asked to contact Barry CID on 01446 731621 or call the main switchboard on 029 2022 2111.

Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers free of charge on 0800 555111.
