Barry Town AFC are a step closer to reaching their target of £100,000 and saving the only team to ever have achieved the triple double.
But one of the club's directors, Dr Liz Davies, who has been struggling to keep the beleaguered club afloat since high-profile chairman John Fashanu and chief executive Kevin Green stepped down, issued a warning.
At an open meeting held on Sunday at the social club, Dr Davies was upbeat about the future of the club, but she warned the crowd of around 100 people who attended to hear the up-date, that no-one could afford to be complacent.
Her message was simple - if the cash was not found, the social club and the football club would fold.
She said: "We are closing in on the target but we need a sustained effort from everyone to finally reach it".
This was confirmed by the administrator, Keith Morgan, who added the club had only three or four weeks in which to raise the required amount. If they fell short of raising the necessary funds within that time, he had to either call a meeting of creditors or inform the court that the club had failed.
Financial controller for BTFC, Russell Amos, again outlined the investment scheme and informed everyone those monies, banked or promised, were around £75,000.
He added that a final push was needed to reach £100,000 and said that if this figure could be exceeded by £30,000 it would give the social club and the football club some much-needed capital.
The latest newsletter was handed out from The Friends of Barry Town. It detailed the short, medium and long-term aims and objectives required to ensure the club survived into the future.
Dr Davies and her team were given a vote of confidence.
