WITH the Wales U-21 international being played at Jenner Park, Barry's home game with Welshpool was postponed.
This gave manager David Hughes breathing space before this Saturday's game against TNS but it is difficult with no money for players and little to alter the cold hard facts of survival.
Barry are still in administration, which must not be forgotten and although a rescue package is on the cards, there is still some uneasiness over the general situation.
Rumour has it that some interested parties are trying to assess the situation, whether anything can be sorted.
With Barry's debts reputed to be anywhere between £800,000 and £1,000,000, only a firm offer percentage-wise will secure the club. That offer must satisfy the high court judge and at least 75 per cent of the creditors.
So Barry Town AFC are by no means yet out of the woods.
The supporters club are understandably nervous about the situation and are anxious to have more of a say about the future, possibly offering finance too.
Certainly before the end of the year the position will be clearer as to whether Barry Town AFC will be able to continue.
It seems unbelievable that with the incredible history of over 100 years, that Barry Town AFC could be defunct.
It would be a disaster for the club, after the fame and success which has put the town of Barry on the map.
Meantime the players must prepare for this Saturday with their toughest game to date, as TNS are the visitors to Jenner Park.
They are unbeaten in the league and have not dropped a point so who can stop them from being champions this season?
David Hughes must be wondering how to prepare for this game and what he can tell his players against such formidable opponents.
The game kicks off at 2.30pm on Saturday.
