MY HUSBAND and I have just returned to Cambridgeshire after holidaying in the Penarth/Barry area.
This was part holiday and part to research family history in these areas.
I would like to convey thanks to Barry Library for all the help given to us there.
The help was extremely useful and the time was given to us with a smile.
We visit many places around the country, some more helpful than others, but we cannot overstate our gratitude for the time and attention we received.
We came away with more information than we had anticipated but we were unable to help our distant relative in Australia who was trying to identify two photographs left to her.
Her great grandfather Samuel Parish (a dock pilot) emigrated from Barry in the 1920s and the two photographs seen here are believed to have been taken either in Barry or Penarth.
If any reader can throw light on the identities we would be most grateful.
We will certainly be visiting again in the not too distant future. Mrs Ann McCarthy,
Treetops, 32 The Coppice, Impington, Cambridge
