Sarah is a real fighter says dad

WHILE the wife of Richard Greening battles to recover from horrific injuries caused by her husband, her family has paid tribute to her strength of character.

Sarah Greening, 32, has four children with her late husband: 15-year-old Ben, who died on railway lines early on the morning of Saturday September 20; his older sister Abby, who will be 16 in November, and; two younger daughters Hayley, 13 and Jessica, who is only five.

Her father, Steve Mortimer-Brown, said: "Sarah has a heart of gold.

She would do anything for anyone.

And when it comes to her children, she will fight to the death for them.

She was not coping well with Ben's death, and what has happened has shocked us all.

"But we all know that Sarah is a fighter, and if anyone can come through these injuries, she can.

"In the last year, Sarah showed her strength my moving her children out of their Arthur Street home, where Richard still lived, and setting up a new life in Church Street, where the attack took place last Saturday."

Steve added: "She is an amazing person.

When she and Richard started having problems in their marriage, she worked two jobs to keep a roof over their heads, refusing to go on any benefits.

"Although they were getting a divorce, Richard was keen to reconcile their relationship, and about four weeks before Ben's death, she had agreed to move back into their Arthur Street home.

"This has been a devastating run of events."
