Cinema review: American Pie: The Wedding (15)

IN THE summer of sequels and trilogy completions (Terminator 3 and the forthcoming Matrix film) it's also nice to have a final slice of pie.

American Pie 3: The Wedding completes the series and this installment deals with the upcoming marriage of Jim and Michelle (Jason Biggs and Alyson Hannigan).

It's an occasion to gather together family members and old friends from high school.

With the return of Steve Stifler (Sean Scott Williams), Paul Finch (Eddie Thomas) and Kevin Meyers (Thomas Nicolas), this is one wedding that will take a little extra planning as the teenagers prepare for the big day.

As with all weddings (and especially this one), nothing is going to plan and the arrangements begin to fall behind schedule.

With the impending day drawing ever closer, the usual hi-jinx and riotous behaviour of this series are in full flow, as the group manage to inflict their deviant activities on the helpless wedding co-ordinators and guests.

There are some outstanding one-liners that will be sure to make everyone laugh out loud, and as second sequels go, this is an excellently crafted movie.

The filmmakers have not skimped in any area of this production,

The script is tremendous and with in-jokes from the last two films and stand-alone jokes for this movie, the sets and locations for the nuptials are superb, along with the returning cast members who give their all.

With all these things combined, it is sure to please many people, and get the much-deserved credit it is due.
