Explain bid

WOULD Paul Haley, the Chamber of Trade President, list the improvements that he says have benefited Barry through (in his words) regeneration.

And will Cllr Steffan William please explain if Plaid Cymru support the Chamber's bid to 'drive visitor figures up' by rivalling Knebworth - where or wherever that is?

And will he say if it will be Plaid Cymru or the Chamber of Trade who will pay for the extra policing, litter collection and no doubt removal of spent needles across Whitmore Bay?

If the Chamber of Trade is serious in the bid to market a positive image of the town let them apply pressure on the Vale Council to enforce the various by-laws for which they are responsible and make Barry, the island, the Vale and the Heritage Coast a tourist attraction in its own right free of Nick Frangoulis's ghastly ideas for a so-called "music extravaganza".

Perhaps he should clean up Thompson Street of its litter and graffiti as a first step in the regeneration programme.
